A few
words to our dear readers:
This following is a must-read article. It contains the sincere
first-hand observations of a culture and society made by an American
expat living in the Netherlands
who travelled to Iran
for the first time in May-June 2008. Although she keeps abreast of
political developments inside the country and reads reports on Iran
in the international media, this trip opened a completely new world
for her. The letter she sent me is full of information and
impressions that can only be had by spending time in the country and

Abolfazl!
As you know, we got back from Iran on 10 June, but our hearts and minds are still
full of the wonderful people we were privileged to meet and the
places we saw during a whole month. I can't tell you how warm,
welcoming, hospitable, and generally sophisticated the Iranian people
are. After just one week there we decided we'd be going back. As
Western visitors we really got special treatment - and I did even more
so than my husband because of the very few Americans they meet. I was
received virtually like a celebrity, with people asking to have their
photo taken with me as soon as they learned I was from America; Click here to
